I am watching my nieces while by brother and his wife play grown-ups in NYC for the weekend. I am hoping their other grandparents with the in-ground pool haven't closed it up yet, it is supposed to be in the mid 80's all weekend.

What do you guys have planned for the weekend?

I'll be working on my (I mean Matthew's) 3rd grade science project - SATURN. :D

FUN! I love working on the science projects with the kids. :D

Weekend? I actually should give a NON-SQUISHED warning.
I have vet appts this morning, eye dr appts this afternoon, big homecoming game this evening.
THEN we are going to Nevada first thing in the AM to attend/photograph my brother's and his wife's vow-renewal ceremony.
THEN right after church on Sunday, I'm headed to Salt lake till Tuesday night. I won't have a computer with me, either. :(

So I'll be popping in sporadically today, but after tonight, you people are on your own. FREE from random meanyheadedness.

Not at all! Once I got used to it, I love it.

Wait till you go to burn something to cd. It's a bit confusing at first because it's so different, but WAY better than the ol XP way.

You mean, someone actually uses the built-in OS software to burn CDs?

I thought everyone used either Roxio or Nero for that.

Data Cds. Of course. It's so much easier just to click and burn. ;)
For music or slideshows, I use specialized software.

I can't imagine anything easier than Nero... Maybe I should actually see what the OS has to offer.

Life sure is different here in Palmdale than what I've been used to. Two weeks ago I had the air conditioner running 24 hours a day to fight off the 100+ degree heat. This morning I woke up all wrapped up in my sheets and blankets, but still freezing. I got up and stomped over to look at the thermostat. It was 67 degrees in here! The outside temperature was 48! I turned on the heat and went back to bed... I never even had a need for a heater at my old place!

Oh, and the only way I know what the outside temperature was is cuzz I have weather station thingees scattered around here, in all the rooms and out on the balcony. The balcony's is remote and I can read it's results from the one in the living room... ;)

Oh, is that it?

Actually, my head feels like it's on fire right now. I got a tetch o' sunburn yesterday while at the fair.

I was wearing a hat all day on Wednesday at Disneyland, so that wasn't a problem. But, later that night I was chatting with my brother (who has been shaving his head for years), and he warned me about that funky tan line I could get on the back of my head if I wear baseball caps too often. I probably should have also listened to him about that suntan lotion thing, too... LOL

We must have birds outside in the feeder on the balcony. Tupper (Squeaks) is really attacking the shutters across the screen door right now!
