Yep. We did. I'll admit there was more than one person who gave us a moments pause before taking their food, but it was definitely a bonding/trust building experience. . .:lol::lol:

Uhhhhh....yeah to say the least.

Ok -- all you Lightroom users out there. Does the color label information get saved to metadata when you ask LR to save to metadata?

I've been trying to keep my laptop and desktop in synch without creating a whole additional catalog for the wedding shots. After spending an hour puzzling over why my ratings weren't getting synched (only to find I'd made a stupid mistake and was having a machine compare things to my external backup drive, and not the local drive that had the correct files on it -- DOH!!!), I have the ratings synched but no color label information.

I was considering marking finished shots with a color to distinguish them from unfinished shots. I've never really played with using the color ratings much before, and had never run into this.

Am I going to need to create a whole separate catalog for that to work?

:evil::evil::evil:

Alright. I decided to create a new catalog and test if that would work for me. It still doesn't synch the color label information!

Here's the process.

I have my original catalog (Master) on the laptop. I rate and color label some files. I select all shots and tell LR to save metadata to files. I save the catalog. I create a new LR catalog (Wedding) and import just the wedding shots. On the laptop, the Wedding catalog has the correct ratings and color labels.

I save the new Wedding catalog and exit. I copy the new catalog from laptop to desktop. I open the new catalog on the desktop, and the ratings are correct, but still no color labels.

Am I missing something here?

To make things even worse -- I open CS3's Bridge, and it sees the color label information. It's definitely there. Why the *&^% isn't LR seeing it?:evil::evil:

Pete -- love the portait mode shot. I first looked at the shot and thought landscape, but comparing the two, I like the portrait one a lot more.

Thanks.. I'm a huge fan of portrait landscapes.

Taken with the 100-400 BTW, not the obvious choice for landscapes, but it works!!

Sorry...I can't help you there as I've never been a 'mother of the bride'.

What about the outfit do you not like about it? A month is actually plenty of time to look for something else...if you are still up for looking.

Is it really bad or is it your idea that it looks bad? Ask the daughter... puddle or someone else for their opinion. It could just be that it doesn't look like you thought it would. Or it just is wrong..

The other option is GO SHOPPING! YAY!:D

G'Moooooooo everyone :)

I went to bed at 10pm last night and woke 1/2 an hr. ago. I think my fever broke at some point because I'm feeling a lot better (so far) today. (I'm hoping it sticks!)

that's good to hear. :)

awww she's SO CUTE! Are your wife and daughter off visiting family then, Feng?
and actually, on screen that looks pretty good for 1600 iso...

Yeah she's just off visiting relatives, and showing Jessica off in Taiwan. 2 more weeks to go.

I ran the pic through Neat Image and gave it a quick sharpen. (don't think I did enough cos the skin looks overly smooth).

Anyways... thanks.

Moooooooooorning all :)
