WHAT?? MARTIN all the way!! ;) :) :) :)

Umm, for an acoustic... yes...

The dad of one of my sister's friends has BEAUTIFUL vintage Martin. He wouldn't tell me how much it cost because he didn't want his wife to know  I don't even want to think about it since it was Left handed too.

ahhh. I see.

How could that suit have looked so awesome til we got it on? I tried it on for Angie nd Chris and it was a big "no"- Luckily I anticipated as much and brought something I already had but had never worn.

The photogs pics are going to be up on Wed and eventually I will get shots from the families. I'll show you then

oh okay, that sounds good. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos!! I'm going to have Dan take a photo of me in the new outfit tomorrow (I'll send it to you for an opinion :) ).

Do you ever go to Guitar Center (over behind Clackamas promenade...across from Sweet Tomatoes?) I love to go and play their guitars...and keyboards...and electronic pianos...

Go? My prodigy of a friend worked there for a over year... LOVE that place.
This kid can play anything with strings. One day he found a fiddle at his house and had it down by the end of the day. Makes me embarassed to play around him but I have known him forever so he helps me along.

That place is great to go and play in though. Ever been to Apple music in downtown Portland? that is an assume place, the people there know more than GC and have some classic guitars.

The owner's guitar collection is hanging on the walls near the ceiling (you can't touch them) Some amazing stuff there.

Yea, I know, I am outta place there now all the emo and hardcore kids are a but different than me... I don't think blues is cool . Ironic thing is they all worshipped my buddy (ironically that is his name ha) for his ability to "shred speed metal" which he can do well, but he love to play blues and bluegrass a lot of times too.

I'm not a very good guitar player. But I want to learn. So I went in to GC to play with some guitars to see what I wanted. I was strumming a guitar and one of the employees came up and asked to play it, so I handed it over. He proceeded to play some complicated blues riff requiring bar chords, fret stretches that can only be done with broken fingers and speed picking that could not be registered with the naked eye. He handed the instrument back to me and said, "Nice guitar. You play?"

My answer? "Not anymore." :o

We have a friend that is a virtuoso with the guitar. Amazing guitarist. Does things with that instrument that boggles the mind.

He considers Jazz guitar to the be apex of playing.

I still pause before hitting Bm.

Nah, Apple isn't the best place to play.. they are a bit more anal about random people coming into play.. but we can trip out to GC too.

Ha, yea, that would be like what my friend would do :lol:. He did that to the stupid kids that came in and convince the rich ones that they could sound like that with spendy guitars ha.

Jimmy Mak's in Portland, is a jazz club that is home to Mel brown and his quartet. The Guitarist in that quartet is an amazing player. The greek food is good too. Well worth a trip up there if you like jazz. 10th and Everett in the Pearl. Wed nights are the best :).

End plug
