They're really not a bad bunch. I have absolutely nothing to contribute to the subject of wedding photography, but every once in a while I chime in just to let them know we all still care.

They really are doing a good job of shouting down anyone who comes on too strong. Even Tim got their collective disapproval for a critique he posted a couple days ago.

They're trying to get a meet going in Albany later this year, and they really want things to go well. I'm giving them all the moral support I can from 3,000 miles away. I'd like to see the WF work things out.

you know I still read a lot over there (probably will until after the wedding) and I've noticed a marked improvement in civility...and some of them are downright friendly. They didn't trash that newbie the other day either.

It is interesting to see how some of them had genuinely hurt feelings over the WF jokes. They were not amused.

I'm glad to see that it's spurred them in the right direction then. I can imagine (especially the ones who were not unkind) having hurt feelings but shoot, that place was a bloodbath on a regular basis. Really, nothing shifted them from it either...until the bannings started.

and you know, I've thought a lot about it, and am genuinely impressed that as a group they do seem to care about the image they give off (which is very different from before) and they do seem to be making steps to change that. I read a lot of new threads and while I admit that I missed the one the Chief referred to, I see a lot of people offering basic advice to questions that they would have ridiculed or slammed before. And really, it's very nice to see a shift over there. While I feel like I'll always be persona non-grata there, I do see a huge change in the dynamic over the course of the last 6 weeks...baby steps at first but more radical as they really "saw" their image in others eyes.

It's been very instructive to me too...examining myself I mean....and while I still am a terrible cut up, I am trying to be more aware of how I represent myself.
