But isn't the christmas shop open all year ? I think it is in Orlando.

I'm not sure about Disney World in Orlando. I've only been there once, and that was more than 25 years ago. But, I've been to Disneyland hundreds, maybe even thousands of times. There is no Christmas shop in the parks on this side of the country. This year was the earliest I've ever seen Christmas decorations available.

There could very well be. I need to get to Disney World again sometime soon! I know it's changed a lot in the decades since I've been there.

One of my favorite shops in Virginia City, Nevada specializes in only Christmas items. I don't consider those type of shops when I'm criticizing stores that put their displays out too early. Those stores have their displays out year round. That doesn't count.

I saw a selection of Christmas ornaments show up in a shop on Disneyland's "Main Street U.S.A." back in June! It's been growing steadily larger, taking over more and more of the store with every visit (and until I moved in August, I visited weekly!)...

I used to love being able to just drop by Disneyland in the afternoon for a couple hours, just because I could. I would not have been pleased with Christmas in June, however.

I think there should be a worldwide law that prohibits stores to start decorating for christmas before mid november.

All in favor, signify by saying "Aye." The "Aye's" have it. Motion carries unanimously. :D

I should ask my wife about the real reason for the early Christmas decorations. She works in Shopping Centre Marketing and has control of the budget for this type of thing. She also organises the company to do it and sets the time that it will be done.

I asked the wife about this (after she woke from her Sunday Morning sleepin:p) as the reason is to sucker you all into spending your Christmas money early, that way you are likely to spend more. Used to be that the 1st Dec was the semi official day but each year different stores and Malls try to get the jump on each other.

My chief complaint last year was the artificially created early frenzy, the large number of "sold out" items, leading to people shopping earlier, creating an earlier frenzy, selling out items earlier. . . If you don't buy into the must do everything early, you almost get punished for it these days.

And speaking of, anyone looking for a gift for me, you can skip over the new I-Poo (http://www.atechflash.com/products-icarta.html (external link)).:lol:;)

Tracey (the wife) reckons they are doing them selves out of money anyway because of the early start. By the time Christmas rolls around they start having sales and reducing the prices.

Anyway, I gotta go.... Photography job today ..... ironically at a Shopping Centre (Mall).:D Talent Quest Finals.

Light is coming to a close. I haven't heard from Scott, they added a bit to the trip so who knows. And the rest of the crew lives about 1.5 hours south Scott and I so yep, that is about all I know, not much as usual
