I've only got 7500 clicks on the camera

And I don't have the money for a 5D (or a 40D)

first check to see if it's happening in other shots...usually there's a white band with impending shutter death...and it's consistent. Electronic interference will cause banding too...but it won't be consistent. Don't panic ;)

Anybody here interested in knowing how to soothe a savage beast?

Gee, Chris, I'd love to know how to tame that savage beast. Tell me, did you come up with a fool-proof plan for that?

Sorry, Permie, but the PM's have been overwhelming to gain this knowledge. Apparently everyone was afraid to post publicly for fear of unleashing the monster. I've never gotten 782 Pm's in less than 5 minutes before. Didn't even know it was possible! ;)

Soothing the Savage Beast (notice the submissive head placement of the door man -- clearly he has learned this important survival skill).

Thanks for making me feel better Lisa...

I haven't checked all shots yet, I'll do it now ;-)a

Here is the shot without any processing, straight out of camera, with the same crop as the previous one...

The only sure-fire method is to double up. The two fisted approach is the only definitive way to calm this situation.

On a frst quick look, it is the only shot with the problem... But I know I've already seen it once on a shot taken with the kit lens (and forgot it immediately as I didn't want to worry ;-)a )

I thought you guys finally realized that you needed both types of beverages for when beasts run hot and cold! YOu have to have that counter-caffeinated goodness to bring things back in balance.

Oh, no. That Frap has just as much caffeine and twice the sugar as the drink she's carrying.

I guess I cannot write today. I am not understood. sorry. must mean nap time or something. instead counter-caffeinated I should have referred to counter in temperature. my brain won't allow me to come up with something clever to replace it

I was assuming that one beverage is cold. (The caffeine being the same is a necessity; added sugar is always a boon.) However, what I am saying is that when the beast runs hot, she needs a cold coffee drink. when she runs cold, she needs a hot coffee drink for balance. That is the only way to regulate a straightforward beast. I'd assumed that was the purpose of 2 beverages. of course some beasts have their own idiosyncracies.. ..

bed time now.

Nope, I get it now. Not your fault.... I'm doing too many things at once which is a terrible burden to my feeble brain.

well, it doesn't show as much but it's still there in that one...it shows more in the processed photo because you brought up the exposure. Keep an eye on your other shots. Is the camera still under warranty? If it gets worse and is more consistent, I'd send it in, with some examples for them to look at. Was your kit lens shot that you saw it on underexposed too?
