Didier, could you take some test shots and see if it's still showing up?

I don't remember exactly what was the shot with the kit lens.. I can't find it anymre :o

No, the camera is out of warranty :-(

What kind of test shots? I don't have time now, but may try later in the week...

As I said, this was one of the first shot of the day and at a first glance, it doesn't appear on any other afterwards... *finger crossed*

Soothing the Savage Beast (notice the submissive head placement of the door man -- clearly he has learned this important survival skill).

well...I'm still not worried about it being the shutter (I could be wrong but my understanding is that shutter failure is horizontal banding that starts at the top of the screen and shows up worse and worse as time goes by)

I've been doing a search on vertical banding and most of it is under exposure or em-interference or other things...

here's the vertical banding search

here's one thread with similar issues that I'm reading now

I'm almost done with Brian's book thing. I'll be sending up a disc later this week.

I should have said it :o :o It is horizontal banding. The shot was vertical and I croped it to see it better...

okay, yes, that is a different matter. The horizontal banding issues can be much more critical. Still don't panic yet...but keep an eye on it. If it progresses then it is more than interference.
