Must be my settings, sorry for the trouble Dave .

Never a trouble Wendy, it's always important to chase up any issues with people seeing your work. IMO there's no excuse for not going to that effort. :)

The 17-70 will focus on dust and water drops on the front of the filter. Is that close enough?

I can see how having extra working distance would be handy though, espcialy if you are setting up lights, reflectors, etc.
I've just done some glass/polished aluminium shelves for work, I almost put the 70-300 to get as far away as possible, which altered the perspective, which altered what was, and what wasn't reflecting in the glass.

That's plenty close enough lol! The last young lady I shot with crops on her face etc didn't flinch with me literally a foot away from her with the big lens hood at her eye, but I think she was exceptionally relaxed. I just wondered if the 180 length would be helpful there, and I'm presuming it can't be any worse than the 100mm for everything else so...

Few more pics from last night:

1)Lambo and Ferrari again

Apologies if these look slightly out on USM and colours, I've just swapped them across from one machine to the other and am starting to wonder if it's time to do another calibration. You get the idea though anyway. :)

Cheers, Dave.

Thanks, will have a look, great that you got the book downloaded, sorry for the hassle and glad you kept on trying :D. Its quite good hey? Their method of dodging and burning is the one I use and its the best and most non destructive IMHO.

I grabbed it last night as well - apologies for not saying thank you then. Had a quick skim through some bits and seems well laid out. Must get a new monitor at some point though as I don't think a 17" CRT quite cuts it any more.

Thank you, much appreciated :)

Hmmm .... not a bad image but my eyes were immediately drawn to the two very bright hex shaped patches in the oof area. Maybe the framing had something to do with that?

Cheers, Shane.

*and he's serious too!* :D

as a product shot methinks the dof is a wee bit thin, the lightings good though...

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

what the hell. Tepapa just stole my two photos...

Matt, this early on you had better get credits correctly. It is well and good to have your pictures up but if no credit is given then not worth it.

Quick question for SS or any other Photoshop experts. My clone stamp tool has gone from displaying a circle appropreate to the brush size I'm using to a crosshairs, and I want to change it back, but how?

Dave, that happens to me when my brush seetings are set to the smallest brush size... but I don't think that was your problem to begin with...

Congrats on your sale!

The funny thing is Sandras eyes lit up when the word $$$ was mentioned. I guess she saw all the effort and no money the first time.

I did tease her saying nudes would be free
"Dont push your luck" ... yes dear

Tony, learn to multi-task... more $$$ that way;) And yes, don't push your luck... I would really hate to see your dreams put on hold again...

manipula wrote in post #4052340 (external link)
Any clues? I seem to have missed the latest buying spree, who's bought what?

To add to what SS said -- Chris bought a "new" car... and I bought a new set of tyres...:p

Mediation wrote in post #4052523 (external link)
yay i brought the bag

Although. may be it was not such a good idea. ....

Well, you've done it - congrats on the new bag... though showing you that and your buying it lickety-split was not what I had in mind...

Go and work another 100 hour week to buy your tripod:p And yes, get one that will carry a 300mm and a new 40D or 5D. I have this feeling that you are going to be getting a camera soon...;)

manipula wrote in post #4052601 (external link)
Are you still getting the same?

Just to say I've just reposted in this post them in case you can't see them.

Dave, will you stop posting those Lambo pics... I'm going to need a bib!

weka2000 wrote in post #4052715 (external link)
Well there goes my landscape photography. Calander filling up already

Looks like time to go shopping for paper rolls. I also need some new props
any ideas. I have single bed, bar stool, poffie and a ben bag that needs beens.

Oh I need a sheet of perpex

Congrats Tony! Don't forget the whips, shackles, and boa feathers too:p

Yes nice wooden chair
Oh does anyone know where I can get those nice asian umbrellas.

What Asian umbrellas? The ones made with paper?

Nice Lambo & Ferrari in #1... but a shame that the van was there... B&W looks good too.
