yep the twin hairdryer version - still sucked.. felt like a wet weekend in bognor( palmerston north is the nz equal) ... !!

fast it was - but then again so would be my driving license as it was handed to the nice officer... ;)

You must have got a sloppy version, or one in need of new suspension.

Keep looking, there is plenty out in that price range, especialy if you start looking at Used imports.

So long and thanks for all the flash

really!

well isn't it about time you become your own boss?

Its in the long term plan. There is a time for everything and I will know when that time is. Untill then the princapal is welcome to tell me what to do.

Oh hows the job hunting going? Hows the 40D?

Yeah right ....... We have a very simple understanding with each other "if you dont like the way things are, theres the front door"

We learnt very early on that we were not going to be able to change the other. We are both very stubborn and when toes get dug in there aint no way either will move.
You think I have attitude ............ cross my wife and she will make me look like a kiten.

Sorry Tony, was just a windup. Picked the wrong day to do that obviously.

lol mine is a combination of yours and med's LOL

well i've just dumped all 10gb of wedding files onto my hdd...
thats gonna take a while to deal with

40d initial report: learning curve steep and short, overall handling excellent, images fine and low grain even at high iso, extreme low light focusing excellent, weight about 2x 350d LOLspecially with 17-55 attached, shutter sound reminds me of luxury car door closing for some reason

Good comparison. I like the sound too.
I'm learning the handling too. It's easy, just remembering which wheel to turn to change the setting you want will take a while. On the 350D it was easy.. there was only 1.

somethingsimple wrote in post #4083830 (external link)
ok heres something for meditation: he asked for a screen & size comparison so here's the 350d vs 40d.

Excellent comparison picture.
The 40D is definitely Big Brother

ah - the old "they're all the same" mistake eh? nope, doesn't work like that.
Some kids will be really easy to take photo's of (I've got one of those :) ) and others will absolutely hate it. Some will sit & play with something for hours while others will be bored silly after 6.2 seconds. Some can do as they're told, while others...

My two boys aren't bad except my youngest pulls a stupid face every time he sees the camerapointed at him.
Recently I photographed a child where the parents said they didnt have any good pictures as she always pulled faces. So I said to her to pull as many stupid faces as she could, and after about 10 face changes I got some beautiful natural shots. ;)

So a catfight in your house can get dangerous.

You have seen those fights with ball and chain. The armor and sheild. One has a swing then the other ............ its like that.

In the end we just tier, or the other pulls out a gun and puts a bullet between the eyes

I love been married

wow thats a really really good idea, im going to totally remember that one.
my method for getting around the child who pulls stupid faces has been to ignore them and then get the long lens and shoot from across the room when theyve forgotten im there... prolly not so easy to do in a studio setting lol

Ok Question about exposure compensation on the 40D.
Whenever I try to change the exposure compensation .

.... <Plays with camera & answers own question>
Oh ****. RTFM!I was getting confused with exposure compensation. Whenever I changed it, as soon as I pressed the shutter, it jumped back to 0.
I just found out .. I was changing the FEL (Flash Exposure Level) not the camera level.
I fiddled with the big wheel at the back & now know how it works !

Yesterday I was at a BMX race & played with the camera. Man it focuses faster than the 350D.
I need to do some tests, but up till now I am not blown away with the image quality. May need to do some formal testing. Just seems that I have trouble getting the right focus point. Might be a learning curve thing.
