much much better in my opinion, you can see the stones flying! :)

Cheers Aaron, I'll make sure I get in really close on my 'close' shots in future. And mix 'em up with some wider stuff from time to time.

Any thoughts on adding flash?

Yesterday I removed Vista and installed xp, not as pretty but far more stable and now picasa works properly and lightroom is faster!

Here is a link to some gannet pics I shot last week

http://picasaweb.google.com …nnets?authkey=KU_Ri4-efUk (external link)

A lot of beautiful pictures there. Mostly very sharp. What lens was that?

#3 answer

A year ago Liz (GKPE Member) offered to model for me. What she didnt realise at the time was by offering that 1 unselfish act she alone launched my model photography.

Without her photos to start my portfolio it would have taken me a lot longer to get a model.

I guess thats why I am with my kit and letting people borrow things that they would otherwise never have the change to use.

#4 You often dont get a second chance. I didnt with that model as she went back home to SA.

The shoot started really bad, I felt like a complete twit the photos were comming out crap, I had no confidence. Her friend jumped in and directed the rest of the shoot and everything chnaged. The photos were perfect I thought. Got home and discovered that I was on AV mode and shutter was dropping below 1/60 .....blur.

There was 1 other factor that made it stood out but cant seem to put into words......there was something about her.

My glamour photography has had a lot of knocks, but it always seem to comes back ....likes its meant to be.
Yes 40 models and dont froget between april and September I did none so thats 6 months so I guess 40 models in 6 months.
The best bit is the responce I get from the models when they see the edited photos ....WOW is what I get.

Thank's for the explanation. It must have happened before I was participating in this group.

ok i dont get it: this person has totally overdone the hdr processing IMO and it seems i'm the only one who thinks that: can you guys go look and give me your opinions? you don't have to bomb his thread with neg comments, i'd just be interested to know whether it's just me who thinks on the whole the shots have missed the boat:

https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=393792

I don't fond them too bad myself. I guess if you only like seeing pictures that represent how it really is, sou wont like them. I like images that stand out a bit & make you think look 2x. What do you think of Southens photos then?

8 Nov. 2005 I confirmed my request to join POTN. At about post 20, I learned about the 500 post limit for G&N, and thought that that would take forever.

I had the perception that I was still under the 500 mark, hence my surprise. Meantime, others have come and joined the stars. They must have many facts about the square of the hypotenuse, or like talking.

Maybe it was introduced sometime in 2005. I think my 20th post was in G&N & there was no limit.

hahaha that isnt a ford badge is it? ROFL what a dork
i guess it doesnt show up as nicely as i thought! LOL
i saw the colour & shape and jumped to all kinds of conclusions
after all, what other kinds of car are there?

and i like sothen's photos - the reason im not keen on those particular hdrs has nothing to do with realism, but more to do with lack of contrast, lack of a sense of space/distance, no differentiation between shadow and lit areas which makes it hard to work out the shapes of things in some places, and and oversaturation (for me)

i like your sig low orbit
heres another way of saying it: shoot as if you dont want to spend all tomorrow in PP :p

Thanks ss :) Yep, nothing like burning your eyes out for hours trying to get an image just so, when with a bit of practice you can take it from the camera and straight through with minimal pp.

Well, that's the theory anyway.

Cheers, Shane.
