More info | Oct 22, 2007 01:50 | #5300 Mediation wrote in post #4168342 Top work ! just a question for you GKPE'rs umm did you all just start photography by just doing it for fun and because its a hobbie. And then just decided to do it as a business. What if you dont choose to do it as a business. Then what happens?? Everyone here makes cash from it (My dad included). And my mates say its a good idea to make money from it. But i dont understand why? i mean why has photography been so highly centered around money. What about art? lol... I took up photography as stress relief. The business side is to pay for the gear as well as learning to run a business.

I have not made any money out of my photography. I don't care if I never do. I have no ambitions to go pro, but if someone offers me money for my work I'm not going to turn it down. I do it for fun, and because every now and then I produce an image I am really proud of. I like the gear, being able to go out and think of something other than work, the creative process, and every now and then the results. I have also met a lot of great people through a common interest in photography, so it's all good.
