Evening all

Sounds like SS is getting to a gear head:lol:

Despite what Tony says, I would not write off any of the Sigma gear unless your going to go FF or 1 series for weather sealing. Lots of us have got the sigma stuff, if you want to try, just ask.

As far as going to the Flower Show, I just might this year, its about 1km down the end of the road & I have never been.

Now, just out of curiosity, does any of the group own a tilt/shift lens?

Not bad for 2 yrs

Much of the time I started cheap and upgraded. Dont ask me how much I have lost $$$. Buy the best and buy once

Yeah, but not everyone needs to keep buying gear to feel fulfilled. Assess your needs and future plans as best you can and purchase to fit that. Don't just buy the best because it would have saved Tony money if he did that, likewise don't buy el-cheapo if you suspect it's not going to do what you really need.

Looking back I would have gone to "L" glass first off. But I had to learn. I didnt know about all the review sites when I started. Yes I am anal about glass I want the best (sharpest) but I have learnt what you have said. Work out your needs, but future proof yourself as well.

The only lens I miss is the Bigma

Most cacti flower, however larger species like this one only flower once they get to maturity, which is 5+ years of age. They're a night flowerer too, so combined with lack of mature specimens in NZ makes this quite a rare flower :) This is a small branch recently taken off a mature plant approx 2m tall, and it probably won't flower again for another 4-5 years when it too matures. The mature plant has 20 odd flower buds on it, and if even half of them develop into flower's I'm in for one heck of a show :D

Neat! My sis-in-law has a cactus skeleton or something she brought over from Las Vegas when she moved over. I should take a picture and post...

As for lens. You get what you pay for. Sigma dont have IS or weathersealed. They are crap on FF. A cheap persons canon :p

You know how to really stir things up:p

So i decided to create a picture on my facebook. I wrote underneath it:

Thats me. Trying to look hot for the ladies...

When the girls see it on facebook they are going to be like, wohas nifty fifty with his designer Jeans West Jersey. What a hot guy!

I think I'm too old:o Can't relate to any of that stuff. I never had to tell girls I was hot:p

:o Should have checked first. But it was a good laugh...

Just be aware that there is no parking on the grounds or surrounding areas. You will need to park at the velodrome and there is a shuttle bus to take you to and from the venue.

TS lenses are cool but too technical and expensive... I read it is great for architecture shots.

I'll just park in my garage & walk down the hill (if I clean my garage out first:oops:)

I've got a project in mind that a tilt shift my reduce my PP by hugh amounts. Do you know if anybody has one for hire?
