So Adorama recently had a good deal going on 11x14 and 12x16 prints, and I thought I would see how my camera holds up at those sizes (as expected, it did just fine). For the larger pictures, I only used B&W images. I was pleased with how they came out.
At the same time, I had a coupon code for a bunch of free 4x6 prints, so I figured I might as well print off some other stuff at the same time and save on shipping. Most of these images were color.
Not knowing how my monitor's calibration would line up with Adorama's printers, I went ahead and checked the box allowing them to screw with the colors if they thought they needed to. I didn't really care for how a lot of those turned out.
I found the printer profiles for their printers and their various types of paper, but I don't know what to do with those profiles now that I have them. Can anyone advise me on how to make sure the colors I see on my screen match the colors found in a printer profile? Do I need one of those calibration doohickies? I'm running OS 10.4, so please try to make any explanations Mac friendly.
Thanks in advance!
