May want to try using a card-reader instead, as it solves many problems, including this. I think the problem has to do with Windows seeing the camera and expecting to see image files (and it doesn't recognize the .cr2 as an image.) Using one of the programs that came with camera (EOS utility?) you should be able to do it directly with USB cable, but card-readers are my preferred method of getting images to computer for many reasons. Yes, you are correct. I figured since it could see the .cr2 when shooting in RAW only, it should be able to do the same with JPG + RAW. Perhaps since there are two files with the same name it gets confused? I've been meaning to get a card reader anyway, so I guess I'll try again with that. The best solution (by far) is to buy a 20$ card reader and just use that.. they are way faster anyway... macdanzigphotography.com
