I enjoy my new D60 but I can't figure out why it is so noisy when shooting...I know some of it must be from the mirror movement, but there also seems to be (what I thought was) a "film advance" sound AFTER the exposure is made (it can't be that because there is no film to advance.) Where are these post-exposure noises coming from? This is more of a curiosity than a problem.

thanks in advance

I believe you got it in your post...the mirror mechanism is making the noise. Got to love that sound, I would miss it way too much if it were not there!

The two noises you hear are for longer exposures and are the mirror up mirror down. Lets you know when the exposure is cooked.

Another puzzler is the LCD which sharpens the image a second or so after showing it - for sake if speed no doubt. Throws you at first thinking it's faulty.

My camera is also faulty and Canon refuses warranty - can you believe it..... I am angry.......

Tell me if you would like to buy a camera for 2900 US$ - only to find out that the pictures have wrong colours and Canon does not perform warranty service.......

What reason does Canon give for refusing warranty work on your D60? That camera looks *very* sick indeed!
