My clients receive a proof CD, and a proofbook, which is a magazine style spiral bound album with 12 images per page. I will do web proofing on request.

Most of my packages also include a DVD of images set to music - but I push that as a product and not as proofing.

Cheers!
Naomi

We weren't just talking proofing?

My packages include a print credit, and a coffee table album, Big packages include a guest book and smaller version of the album, as well as hig res images on disc. All packages have an additional, optional "proof box" which is all images 6x4, presented in a photo box.

My prints range from 6x4 to 30x40. Looking for a decent canvas supplier as we speak. I can do diary's, thank you cards, calanders, and we sell traditional dry-mount albums if you want to DIY, and we stock frames. Brides love STUFF, and it sells really well.

Cheers,
Naomi

If we are just talking proofing... then:

Online viewing/purchasing - Smugmug
4"x6" Print proofs in a proof album

I stopped selling the high-res files on CD-ROM - I am considering offering a DVD slide show - or just a "web-res" CD in replacement of this.

When you say Proof CD or 4x6 proofs what are your dimensions (in pixels) for these proofs? Do you apply a watermark? Or are they standard 4x6 @ 300 ppi proofs? If so, couldn't the customer just enlarge them enough to get fairly decent quality in a large print?

I usually have my pixel with set to 900 pixels on the shorter side. this allows for a decent 4x6 and a sketchy 5x7.

not a lot of gear, but I have endless amounts of energy!

Upon their return from honeymoon, I host the bride and groom in my studio for a 'viewing party' where I present a pumping slideshow on a 50" plasma which I prepare in Fotomagico (external link). They enjoy sparkling water/champagne and chocolate whilst they view the show which takes 30-45 minutes.

If they bought and album package, I also preview the pre-designed album on the plasma at this point and discuss any initial changes they might require.

After they've viewed the show and album pre-design I give them material which outlines how they access and order prints via my PickPic (external link) online ordering system. At this point I also give them 50 complimentary postcards which feature a great shot from their wedding on the front and the online ordering details on the back which they can give/send to any family and friends they think might like to see and/or order prints.

It's all about making the experience special. I know that if I go above and beyond their expectations at this point, they will tell their friends. :)

Dan, those are some awesome ideas! When I get my studio finished, I'm definitely going to host viewing parties.

For now, I do some select proofs online, and I give them a set of 4x6 proofs in a box to keep. Packaged beautifully, of course.

By the way what proofbook does everyone use? I have never offered a proofbook before but I have a customer that is willing to pay dearly for one. Thoughts?
