I hear the focus is a little slow due to lens glass weight. Is the focus fast enough to use on Al servo for "running speed" sports?

I have the lens but I've never tried it on running sports. It's really not that slow and I seriously doubt someone could out run the focus of the lens....Now motorsports may be a different story.

Thanks Jason, I like fast primes and I think this will can come in handy in low light weddings as well as limited sports.

The slow speed of focus is very noticable when focusing from min. distance to infinity. I think when there are small changes in focus distance, it probably won't have a problem.

I've not tried it myself as I have the faster 85/1.8 also which I would use over the 85L for action type shots.
