No further references to the [Date Stamp] function on the S3 IS or S5 IS manuals were found. rafael

Because there are actually a couple of Canon P&S that do offer the date on the image. I think a couple of the smaller S models. It's part of a "Postcard" setting or something like that. But that's not available on the Sx IS series.

The text wasn't edited for the S3 manual. So, no, you can't embed the date visibly in the photo at the moment you take it. You can later embed it in the picture via an action in PhotoShop, for instance, or manually. Jon

rpolitsr Cream of the Crop More info | Sep 18, 2007 13:04 | #6 LotsToLearn and Jon you are perfectly clear about the postcard setting possible in other cameras that embed the date in the file and that the S3 IS does not have. rafael

First, in the S3IS manual rpolitsr has it right to set the print settings to print date (page 113). Once that is done the date is available to the camera software (Easy-PhotoPrint) which you bring up after installing on your computer. On the layout/print tab you can click the date tab below and the date will appear at any place, size or color you choose, and you can click file-preferences and you will see the choice there for the date configuration which remains until you unclick the date tab in layout/print.
