Hey Guys,

I need a little help from you guys. I currently have the 30d + 17-55 IS combo which I absolutely love! The problem I have now is that I want to go FF, possibly sometime in October when the rebates will be available. I will probably end up with the 5D + 24-105 + 50 1.4 if I ultimately decide to pull the trigger now. So my question is, should I pull the trigger now or possibly sit tight for the 5d mkII?

up to you. im waiting on getting the funds for just a straight out 5D kit. at that point the 5dmkII will be out, and hopefully that will drive the cost of the 5d down.

I have the same combo as you, and just decided to wait for the 5d Mk2, I really want to go FF because I do a lot of portraits but i want to see what the mk2 will give me before I decide if it will be worth the extra money.
I say wait, whats the worst that can happen ? when the mk2 comes out you will be able to buy the 5d for less than you will pay for it with the rebates anyway.
at least you will not feel bad if the new 5d will have something you really want and you already got the 5d

It's really up to you. The 5D is still a kick butt camera. It's performance for the budget FF is like no other at this time. It's good for portraits, weddings, landscapes, etc. The only downside is the FPS( 3fps). If you don't shoot sports that often, than this is the ticket for you. Why wait if you can take pictures now, right? =)

the question is - how badly do you want to go ff? and can you wait?

I'm like everyone here I don't know when the 5D MKII will be out or if there will be but I'm guessing it will be the same time the 40D was released except next year

I don't know what else to say but a day I shoot with the 5D doesn't go by without me looking at the images and saying, "Oh, Wow."
