Are they any good, do they compare to the Katz-Eye? I am presuming they aren't if you are looking around at after market ones.

I didn't get any extra's in my kit. From what I can work out they are still not as good as a Katz-Eye, not split prism just different mat that is supposed to make it easier to manual focus with. haven't sseen any $ quotes but then I haven't looked either.

With the 5D, the purpose built canon ones aren't very useful for what I do, but there's like two, both of which aren't split screens

I got a Haoda Split which is a remodelled original canon one... just shaped to fit.

same as the 5D then. the Katz truely is fantastic... dammit Rachael!! Make one for the 5D :D... or 5D2 when that comes out :D
