The rump steak part was the name of the now defunct small production company i ran through high school. Its different and was pretty catchy at school amongst everyone ;)

Rump Steak Productions. I think ive still got a release form with our letter head on it hear somewhere...

hrmm... wonder if there's rumpsteak.com (doubt it)... but that'd be cool... photo.rumpsteak.com :)

i was thinking more fluffydumplings or porkchops.com or something...

Whilst I'm having a look at how the dolphins from this morning came out, here's a couple for your viewing pleasure..

Yeah, cheers Sam - not bad of "Jasper" the mow. Bees were fun - took a chance without any safety gear on! No stings for me, but the beekeeper (my wife's cousin) got a hit or two!

OMG - going for the record, shortest time to the ten ton in a thread!

Just had a look at dolphin pics - nah. 75-300 at 300 is pretty flaky, to say the least. These were taken just opposite customs house (ie from our place) - should have gone down to ground floor to get closer!

I had to give the bee shot some major shrinkage to get it under the 100kb limit - usually just set pixel width to 800 on long side and it sits within the 100, but this was still at 250. Must be the cacophony of colour in the pic!

there's no 'official' limit on hotlinked images afaik.

the 100kb limit is for 'attached' pics... not hotlinked.

If I get to a thread and the pics are taking a long time to open, I just reverse out of the thread and go looking at the next one to get my attention.

Especially when I am traveling and on dialup.

Same with the 800px rule - with the screen borders and stuff - 800px is optimised for a 1024x768 monitor size - if a picture is too big for me to see it without scrolling, I move on - no comment left.

oh dont' get me wrong... i try and keep mine as small as possible... but sometimes it'll jump to about 150K... and i almost always go to 800px wide... sometimes 600px depending on the purpose...

Fair call - that's what it's all about. Dialup would be a pain for big files - we use CITRIX at work and that's sometimes slow, especially for a site with animation all over the page. Takes forever :( even tho the connection is pretty fast. It's just that "image overlay" thing.
