Great shots Troy, I love the Mt Cootha Gardens because of the diversity of subjects.

Thanks Feng and Greg. I think there's better detail in #2 and #4 because I was able to get so close to them without them buzzing off.

Greg, I still haven't made it to Roma St with my camera :( But after battling the midday heat at Mt Coot-tha, I'll be smarter next time and go first thing in the morning like you guys did. I'm looking forward to it.

Yes, Yes, Yes. The heat is a killer in more ways than one. Kills you and the the shots a lot of the time. I've just got back from a trip to the local creek, I'm beat by the heat. Got a couple of nice shots though.

maybe we can do Roma St early in the New Year at about 6am.

Whoo hooo I'm on holidays.. for three weeks.

Woohoo! Stupidly, I didn't bother taking the three days between Christmas and the New Year, and as it got closer the regret increased :( But we're closed Monday, so have a long weekend :D

Too late for David

Deal declared consummated on the Aussie Club thread.

OK - two lessons learned - don't leave checking posts on POTN for long, and also, read ahead before posting any replies

Yeah, that's what the gameplan is after uni. My aunty works for Queensland Transport and is always reminding me that temp work or a traineeship is always an option that can be easily achieved with a little luck. Not to mention all the various pathways one could take to get into an admin job in the public sector...

And (having been dealing with public sector staff in various departments in terms of financial advice) the superannuation contribution level is much more generous than you would get in general public land. The average balance of a long term public servant is much greater than the national average of a 65 year olds' (about $84k) in super.

Well worth the trip, Troy. Greg is very helpful. Nice pics, BTW - good depth, good detail.

I'm just about to head up town and hope the heat isn't too cr@ppy. I'm not much of a "height of summer" kinda person

I love the way the colours on the wings on the crested flying rats changes with the angle of the sun.

Iridescent, sorta.
