Sounds like a good idea, although its microsoft and more to the point, vista, so its going to cause problems anyway ;)

Ahh, yes. Microsoft. Sometimes I wonder if I just purchased a $3,000 clock...

Still cant believe that the lappy boots faster than my main pc. Think it might be time to start fresh with that again too. Although it really needs replacing.

That's probably help - it's amazing how much junk accumulates, and a re-install would work wonders. Go by the rule that if you haven't used a program for a year, you probably don't need it, so no need to reload it.

Oh and i had forgotten the "joy" of having to go and do the whole windows update thing after doing a fresh install. Although its not so bad now as i dont have to sit and wait for service pack 2 to install.

Yeah, but then a few months later its all bogged down again with more junk. I need an upgrade, something thats a little faster and with more ram. My poor 2gig athlon from like 6 years ago is starting to show its age. Some more ram would be a huge help too.

Doesn't take long, does it. You'll be surprised how much difference a stick or two more of ram will make. The prob is prolly the limit in HDD space you can add/upgrade to. It gets limited pretty quickly depending on your mobo.

Just remember the poor dude I spoke with many (many) years ago, when the internet was just a baby; he had bought two x 8mb sticks of RAM for $1,500 each. EACH!!

Now it's as cheap as chips.....

Ahhh... those were the days.

I remember a while ago when we were all excited about hard drives coming down to about $1 a gig...

:(

My desktop lcd is only 1280 x 1024. Im thinking one of those cheapish dell systems will be coming my way eventually. Even the cheapy ones come with 20" screens these days.

Cheers. I had used 10 pics for the image. All of which were hand held :P I used PhotoMerge on Photoshop CS3 to join them together and was quite pleased with the results

For those with OCAU accounts, take a read of this (external link). I know someone from here, Nerdy Nigel i think it was, had a bad experience with them too and so have i.

So, if you are in the city and want to look at camera gear, give Reiners the widest berth possible.

I vote with my feet when it comes to Rainers now. I won't do business there now, even though my experiences have all been good I've personally seen this type of behaviour in the store. If I'm buying from bricks and mortar stores I want to feel that I can go back to them. All they seem to be concerned about is the initial sale.

Yeah for broadband again....... got sick and tired of the cr@ppy weather down the coast. I mean, what the point of being at the beach if you have to sit inside all day and watch TV because it raining outside. The next few days didn't hold a lot of promise for improved conditions either so we came home this morning. Pouring rain most of the way back so it was a joy to drive home. Bad weather meant no photos from down there and we didn't even get onto the beach.

Don't have an account so can't read, but I can guess the content.

I've been in a couple of times - first time, when I bought my nifty there, they were very helpful, and keen to drop the price to get the sale. Second time re the 70-200 they were less than helpful. Therefore, no sale.

Welcome back! It's been raining on and off in BV. Just popped home for a coffee (my wife is working from home today ;)) and had a few drops of rain, but nothing too heavy.

But Murphy's Law states that the next few days will, despite the forecast, be sunny and great down the coast... :p Just watch.

Thanks, I was expecting it to be raining all day here also but so far it's been ok. Kids are in toy heaven, all that stuff that had to sit in the boxes can now be opened.

We'll see how much Mr Murphy likes me.:D
