5 minutes before midnight, the noisy bastard over the back fence went silent.

No idea why - but the thought that he had been drinking since this morning and he may have passed came to mind.

Happy New Year to you all.

Oh no.... we now have bag pipes across the road from me.

Can't be my (bagpipe-owning) brother in law - he and his family are celebrating the new year in Sydney! But he did give them a blast after we'd been out for a meal a few weeks ago. Bet the neighbours loved that! Lucky you're not in Chelmer!

May not have made it to 08?....:rolleyes: Or his new years resolution was a vow of silence - just a bit premature........;)

Opps, sorry, but it comes from a QWERTY keyboard and sticky fingers. B & N live next door to each other. Slip of the fingers that's all. Sorry again.:o

Hmmm - I didn't proof my post very well, did I?

I meant to say passed out.

Reality, however, is much more mundane.

He is a bit of a loud person - and a bit schitzo - and, towards midnight, he was getting very loud and very obnoxious. Then, as I said, it all went quiet.

He had a blue with one of his guests - and they all up and left.

His wife is reading him the riot act this morning.

*sigh* living in these suburbs is an eye opener...

In Sydney we lived in an apartment close to North Sydney.

When we first moved to Canberra, we had no idea of the areas and took the first house we could get - which turned out to be a lucky find as it was in a secure part of Canberra (lots of established homes and embassy personnel so lots of security patrols).

This move was also the first house that came available - the blocks are small and the neighbours are prone to letting the whole street know their daily problems...

The lease still has 9 months to run.

I really don't know.

There is still a lot of Australia I haven't seen yet - lotsa places to park my butt and set up a tripod.

I just turned down a very lucrative job back in Sydney because my wife doesn't want to leave ACT - but, sooner or later, we will have to move on. If I want to buy land, I want to own the land, not lease it.

Happy New Years all, I just got back from camping... mmm, love the smell of woodsmoke. Might have some decent fire-twirling shots to post, haven't looked back yet and I wasn't sober when I took them so I'm hoping they turned out alright :p

HNY to all :D

John, you have to come and see my area (and brisbane too I guess  ) it really is beautiful.

I had the awesomest night last night, just went to a mates place for dinner, drinks and Wii. My goodness it was sooooo much fun. I want one now! I'm so sore now though. We played the sports one, I don't even get this sore when I go to the gym for a workout!

It's pouring down rain here, it's flooding rains at the moment I reckon! So cabin fever for us at home too!

Happy New Year everybody!

Oh, and on a side note ... WTF was I thinking, getting married in cyclone season? Yes, I was made complacent by the fact that we haven't had one for quite a few years, but has anyone looked at the radar lately???

FAAAAARK! Just over a week to go and it's not looking good people.

Happy New Year to all you northerners.

Kinnon, your not the 1st person to be Wii'ed out. I can see a new category of sports injury coming into being. Wii-shoulder.
