Happy New Year to all you northerners.

Kinnon, your not the 1st person to be Wii'ed out. I can see a new category of sports injury coming into being. Wii-shoulder.

Wardie

I had never played it before, and people had been telling me how sore they get, but i was like nah...I'll be right it's a video game, it'll be nothing! How wrong was I!

My shoulders are not all that sore, just my triceps and biceps and the muscles that wrap around my rib cage. If I get a Wii, I'll be rid of my tuck shop arms in no time!

Hang on - it is 40°C here and raining there and you think I should go there? You have a cyclone on your doorstep....

lol

Lens is going well - I have also ordered a 135mm f/2.8 soft focus - could be interesting.

I am the proud owner of the Peleng 8mm Fisheye lens

I wish it was 40° here! It's in the early 20's here at the moment. And I didn't mean you should pack everything up and leave now, I just meant sometime in your travelling future!

Good to hear, got any pics from it? Would love to see some!

I had the awesomest night last night, just went to a mates place for dinner, drinks and Wii. My goodness it was sooooo much fun. I want one now! I'm so sore now though. We played the sports one, I don't even get this sore when I go to the gym for a workout!

Ahh, the Wii. But before you get excited thinking it's good exercise for the kids, and adults for that matter, apparently an hour of Wii-ing will work off about half a Mars bar...... But it's still good fun tho!!

Happy New Year everybody!

Oh, and on a side note ... WTF was I thinking, getting married in cyclone season? Yes, I was made complacent by the fact that we haven't had one for quite a few years, but has anyone looked at the radar lately???

FAAAAARK! Just over a week to go and it's not looking good people.

So here's what we'll all do - spend the week taking our umbrellas everywhere - that's sure to scare off the rain. ;)

I'm guessing that my answer the the following question is "shoot in RAW", but here goes. I shoot in jpeg L, High quality on the 400D, and the pic is 3888 x 2??? (can't remember), so highest quality possible. Average pic size is 3 ish MB. On some I've done a simple run thru the PSP Photo X2 "auto adjust" which does hue, sat, bright, contrast, sharp etc all in one. Then the same pic is just over 1MB - I know that jpeg is lossy, but that's a huge file size difference. Or am I getting it wrong?

Don't know PSP but check an options button or slider to adjust the JPG quality. I shoot JPG most of the time and with the 40D the files are 3-4MB, after edits in CS2 I save as JPG again at Quality 11 (out of 12) to give a file size of 1.8-2.8MB. These are then resized by a IMatch script before uploading to my domain. The resized files are about 100KB (average)

That is a good one :D Groggy Greg or Robby Ron?

My NYE, well I got fired in a roundabout way, "you mean no one has told you that they don't want you back next week?", "mmm no", "that is not nice, well we (agency) would like you to come in and have a chat, and look at some new jobs" Helen is now back to trawling the job ads.

I got a monitor calibrator as well. A spyder2, I am relatively happy with it.

I was planning to go down to a festival outside of Newcastle but it was cancelled which meant it was too late for me to get a pass for Woodford. I had plans of going up for a day or two but with the weather I went meh. I am going up tomorrow though to collect my brother and his mates. mmm wet tent to take care of.
