No, Greg, you've got it all wrong. Jessica did most of the downloading, hey Feng? ;)

I was going to say her... but you guys wouldn't have believed me :rolleyes:

In all seriousness though, I think a combination of the 3 boys (brother in law, brother and me) and our work emails/patches/updates etc did it :) hehe...

Changing their provider to one with a dynamic cap now though... sliding quota. "Need more? Slide bar!" Very much a pay for what you use system... If you don't reach your quota, they only charge you for what you use ($1.02/GB). You just choose your maximum cap. :)

Amen to that. My sister has been on the computer with all my photos on it all day and won't get off.

I think I might have to go for some portable hard drive sort of setup so that I can have them and DPP, photoshop etc installed on them so that I can use virtually any computer I like. Here or elsewhere. :)

I haven't got a good shot of one of these guys yet. The pre-flash that the ETTL system emits seems to spook them so when the real flash goes off they are a blur in the air.:o

Not always Greg - if you shoot enough of them, you come across a Doli that is just plain well, non-fussed about the flash and stays put. I got an image of on recently, but would have to find it.

Well spare a thought for some of us still stuck on 56k guys...big images like that simply take forever for us to download...

3gb download limit Feng, that's crap, who you with and how much are they ripping you off by? TPG offer a ADSL 1 8000k plan, 20gb/20gb for $59/month. I'd go with my employer, ECN, but they're VERY expensive...at least I got a job, and got a freebie dialup account to boot ;)

Helen - sorry to hear about the crappy agencies. I personally detest agencies and think that they should be made illegal.

Happy new year everyone.

Dave

No idea what ours is. I do know its got 1mb up unlimited and we have a 50gb download limit that gets throttled back to 512k unlimited if we go over it. I think its just a tad over $50 a month.

Are you sure about that 512k throttling Sam ? Most ISPs only do 64k on a throttled link (or 128k if you pay for the better plan).

hey hey, David. :D

Welcome to the thread

Im pretty sure thats what it gets cut back to, it seems faster when its throttled than our old 512 connection was.

We used to be through ECN before "downgrading" to Smellstra Bugpong. This was back in the dial-up days, though. :)

Helen - sorry to hear about the crappy agencies. I personally detest agencies and think that they should be made illegal.

I've been with an agency for the last year as a result of not being at uni this time last year. I have a mild intellectual disability, so I was with a firm that specialised in people with disabilities, but because I could still get a job by myself they were never really hands on with me. The only times they were I was attending some workshop thing where I already knew all the stuff they told me. The other time I'd be at their office with them helping me go through newspapers and websites and stuff and they were lathering on such a false sense of optimism by saying things like "Oh you'd be good at that job" and things like that. Needless to say I wondered why I felt like sh*t when I didn't get said job.

The biggest mistake I made was getting the job at Wollies because I was no longer a priority for them so they only rang or emailed me once every six weeks just to be polite. When the sh*t hit the fan at Wollies and I stopped getting hours my case manager had the hide to suggest I try getting hours in other departments. Then and there I realised that he had no idea what he was going on about at all.

I haven't told them about Australian Geographic and I probably won't unless they mention it first. My contract with them ends this month and I'll be so glad because they really were a waste of my time.
