Try unplugging all the things on the phone line (phones, faxes, etc) except the router and one phone (preferably a simple phone) and see if it still occurs. Move the phone to another point and try again if it does. If possible, move the router to another point and test again. wakko wrote in post #4620127 and how about DSL stability when doing a line isolation test? (router only, no filters etc). it could potentially be the splitter? or have you tried that? I know for my router, it's crap when using in DSL2 mode as the filters were only designed for DSL1 (slightly different frequency afaik). Guess only things you can do are: 1. Phone isolation (which you've proven your line into your house etc is fine). 2. DSL isolation (test DSL stability ruling out filters, etc). If that works, you have to focus on your filters making sure you get DSL2 certified ones... C10 (rebadged as jackson) are good, but I found they made no diff for my router (billion). I have a central filter which I'm procrastinating installing... that should fix it ![]() Thanks for the suggestions guys, I passed them on to dad and he said he would play around again on the weekend. I also told him about the DSL1 and 2 filter thing and he said that could be it. We only really started having this problem when we moved over to the DSL2+.
