I'd have taken the lens in and tried it yourself. You're never under any obligation to buy something then and there. :)

I know. But because of the rain I didn't really feel like walking to the train station with my camera equipment in my bag as it seems every time I decide to go outside it starts to spit or rain

I went out to get some fish and chips for lunch yesterday. When I left it was sunny/cloudy but by the time I got home I was soaking wet :(

Hell guys and girls, sorry to interrupt but I've got my 5d for sale in Brisbane - can send it interstate for cheap.

link:
https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=430765

It's basically brand new and a month old. I only want $2600 for it and I'm including a sandisk 2g CF with it - next best price is just over $3200 for the body alone. It's an Aussie bought body so has full Australian warrantee etc.

Just a head up!

Sorry to post about this further but I've done a first and final price drop on the 5d to $2500. If it doesn't sell within a couple of days it's going on ebay.

I took it for a run earlier this evening. Damn that thing is sharp. :|

I also borrowed Dave's 18-55 and 50 1.8 and they quite literally leave my battered old 28-80 for dead.

I borrowed Johnno's 35/1.4L this evening and had a puddle over dinner.

Here's a sample:

I'll be completely honest with you.... I'm going to nikon. It's a personal thing. I prefer to shoot film with an f3hp than the equivalent canon. In terms of ergonomics, the nikons suit me better. In terms of image quality, the only camera that can match the 5d is the d3, and it's 3 times the price. D300 will do for me for the moment.

You guys all taking about 35 1.4s and 24 1.4s.... wait till you see them on a full frame sensor. I nearly peed myself the first time I tried a friends on the 5d. Yes it is that much better.
