Cheers Andrew :)

The off camera flash thing at the party was so cool. And i was in my element so i didnt have any problems being at a party of people i didnt know. Just hoping to get invited along to a costume party or something next ;)

I "may" need an assistant for the one I'm going to. You can be Sophie Howarth. :p

Time for some more pics...

I was the fourth member of today's POTN Macro / Running water meet at Cedar Creek.

Here are some critter / macro pics

1. Hairy Nose :)

All ripper shots, but that one in particular is very cool indeed. Strange looking beastie, wonder what it is...

Thanks again to Dave for hosting and putting on some yummy snags and rolls for lunch.

No probs, glad everyone got some decent shots and didn't mind making the trek out here.

Some more creek shots from today (if you are not sick of them already :) )

Just going through mine, but I don't think they're up to my usual standard. Yours however are quite good indeed.

Certainly would be interesting in tagging along next time as well. My feet are starting to hurt though

Glad to see you all had a successful day. Some great shots in the mix. I'm sad that I wasn't able to make it. I'll hope for better luck on the next organised event.

Those Canon Macro lenses seem to do a very nice job.

Not too sure what the next meet will be. Need some ideas folks :D

And most macro lenses around 100mm are pretty even as far as IQ goes. Its just build quality and focus speed that separates them.

Anyways, on that note, im off to bed.

G'night folks

AWOTE = Average Wage Ordinary Time Earnings - it relates to the national average wage Aust-wide. In relation to the ad it probably indicates that it's equivalent pay of current AWOTE figures. Hang on - let me Google...

Yeah - it's around $1,100 per week, which relates to the upper end of the scale in the ad you quoted.

In plain English it means that the pay is equal (approx) to the national average pay.

Ahhh cheers. So it's like saying "award wage" or above award wage"

So I should look for OTE then?

Pish, become a baker for a woolies store or something similar. Earn more than the store management ;)

So true. Although its worth it sometimes...

What Bruce said...

Hush you :p

I know, it's ridiculous. When I had my business I was earning more than what a store manager does at Bunnings, even when I factored in all my costs.

Does anyone know what 'OTE' mean in regards to salary I think.

For example....

Assistant Store Manager
Salary $45,000 to $54,000 OTE!
Annual conferences for top performers- Hawaii, Bali, Couran Cove
Career Development Opportunities
Flexible working hours

On-target earnings.

willstar wrote in post #4933691 (external link)
Usually relates to "Ordinary Time Earnings" - it's a measure of average wages cost.

Actually in regard to sales jobs it's on-target earnings, ie. the amount you can get if you achieve all your sales targets etc.

Maximum figure, padded out to make the pay seem more attractive.

No worries about the lift. It was great to get out with the specific task of just taking pictures. That spider with the water drops and his outstretched leg is fantastic - great angle

That makes sense - sales targets are the thing of today, for sure.

**David wonders if Ruth works on targets in her job.............**

Hmmm...you need to start a book.

Did you use the ring flash for this? Which lens?
