Great series Andrew, and thanks again for the lift.

I'm awake now!
A few more

More excellent shots :)

Odd ladybug, furry - I've seen the shiny ones before (and failed to photograph them), but a furry one is new to me.

The spider shot is very nice indeed. One thing I need to work on more is getting more background in the shot (i.e. colour, rather than black).

Wow Greg! This is a beaut. I never knew these guys were fuzzy!

Hmmm...you need to start a book.

Did you use the ring flash for this? Which lens?

Fuzzy? No, doesn't look fuzzy to me.

Better have an eye test - could be cataracts........ :p

No worries about the lift. It was great to get out with the specific task of just taking pictures. That spider with the water drops and his outstretched leg is fantastic - great angle

Andrew

Thanks Andrew

Or you could study to become a financial planner........ ;)

Sidebar please David :) - How does one go about becoming a financial planner? Is a specific degree required or does it mainly involve diploma level courses?

Thanks Dave,

slower shutter speeds, highter iso is usually how I get this. Trade off with the slower shutter speed is camera shake, so I'm using a tripod a bit more now to compensate.

Ahh, denial. I checked here (external link)and it says that "seeing smooth ladybugs appearing fuzzy is the first sign". And we all know how accurate the Wiki is - the source of truth......

Oh - hang on - reading between the lines, it mentions that lack of caffeine is also likely to cause fuzziness. Solution - a short macchiato..... ;)

Degree helps in a related subject, but to become Certified Financial Planner nowadays you do the first eight modules (takes about 2 years) then a further 5 (I think) advanced modules to get CFP status - another two or so years worth.

Luckily I completed mine (Deakin Uni) when only 8 subjects were required

Being CFP makes sense, as it's when the income reflects the level of study completed, although most financial planners don't have that level of education - usually you can start planning after completing five of the eight subjects.

Oh, CFP also requires three years of industry experience, too.

I'm hoping my test Lulu book should arrive this week (but it might be next week yet - depends on shipping).

Ah, I figured it might be the case - stands to reason really. I have enough trouble holding this lens steady at 1/100 while also holding a speedlight.

Hmmm, Dawn at Fingal... I've often wanted to go to the Giant's Staircase there for a dawn shoot - hell of a long way from here though, and if this weather continues like this, dawn would be a fizzer anyway.

Back to yesterday's shoot - I'm not overly impressed with my creek shots from yesterday - I think I was in the wrong frame of mind.

Here's one:
