This combinations seems not to want to work (40D + RC-1 Remote) any suggestions on how to get it working (If it does??)?

If there is no technical reason behind this, it seems like a bit of a slight to the higher end cameras. ---------------

The higher-end models connect to various radio remotes with longer range and omnidirectional capability for remote shooting and the like. Jon
