I was just contacted by a bridal expo that had a photographer drop out this weekend, and they want me to fill the spot.

There will be about 350 Brides. There are only 55 vendors, and only 6 of them are photographers. I am getting a discount rate of $400 for the booth (normally its $795). Its an 8'x10' booth, and they make your banner up for you. It is is Cleveland.

I am wondering if this is worth it. I have taken a few weddings, and have a few more booked. I don't have a store front, and thought this would be a great way of contacting potential brides.

What do yall think?

I have til 5 today to get back to her. Please let me know.

Thanks!

Yeah, I have gear too....

Depends how many brides you'd have to book, based on your package prices, to come out ahead and whether you can afford to lose that $400 if you get zero brides booked that day.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

Well, my packages range from $1200-$3200. So, I have alot of price ranges covered. The $400 could be used on a new couch, but isn't neccesary, lol. But what would you suggest I bring? What would a decent set up be for one of these?

If anyone has done these before, what was an average booking rate? How many brides did you book?

My website is www.loveandmarriagephotography.com (external link) to give you an idea of my photography style, if that helps.

I would do it. I have looked into it and if you get the booth for $400 then that is an awesome chance that I wouldnt pass on.

With 350 brides and 6 photographers, chances are you will get at least one booking.. if not then at least your card will be out there and others may contact you

I've done them, and they are a great way to get your name out, book one wedding and you've made your money back, or you should. I would do it, but you don't have alot of time,,,get some info together and run to Kinko's and get it run off..make a nice packet or something to give the brides..

THIS also worked...hold a raffle for something..free engagement etc...and save those names for contacting later...

I've booked 3-4 weddings from the event itself that day, more after, I say Do it

what part of cleveland and when is it? I live north of you and will be in Downtown Cleveland next weekend...

Sounds like a good deal to me, if you have enough stuff ready to show/give brides, or have the time to get everything ready.

I have a slideshow, no problem, and I have business cards, I could easily get the broshures from kinkos...but the one thing I am missing would be the album. Where could I get a nice album at in under 2 days? I would have to purchase the album and then put my 8x10's into it.

I am trying to convince my husband into doing it now, but its like pulling teeth.

Here is the link for the company hosting it: http://www.claiborneproductions.com …and_ohio_bridal_show.html (external link)
