Wow! Look at those colours:D I love the background too because it really shows off the spiders beautiful markings and colours.

the banana spider that lives in south america is poisonous, this looks like the common everyday black & yellow garden spider, also known as the "writing" spider. when i lived in california we called them banana spiders because they lived in our banana tree plants. but i'm not a spider expert so i could be totally wrong! :o)

We just bought a house and we have spiders that kinda look like this one but it has some kind of ancient markings could someone please tell me what kind it is and if it is dangerous

Nice one Ira...I've never seen a spider like this! I don't care for the little monsters, but this one has some beautiful colors on it.

WE have those here and call them writing spiders due to the zigzag design they weave into their web. They can get big and when disturbed, swing the web back and forth. But I think harmless.

Amazing shot


Basic body, 50 f1.8, 85 f1.8, 70-200 f2.8 L, 430EX. A 50D or it's replacement in the new year and a revived trigger finger.......would like to also add 135mm f2 near future (maybe)
