Yohan Pamudji,

Again, you want to pick my words apart. I'm not going to keep replying to this nonsense. I see all the differences and features but I mention 2 and you have more to say to me, trying to prove your point. Well, excuse my generalizations but you keep pounding away and pounding away. For crying out loud, I made a simple post stating some of my feelings and now I'm justifying and explaining every damm word.

Do any of you see why some people don't even want to post because of this crap? You don't know me or my level of expertise or appreciation for gear and features so you find the key words that get your panties in a bunch and go berserk.

Convince each other of whatever you like. I am through justifying my every word.

I feel like I am in a room with a bunch if whining babies that so desperately want attention.

Have a nice day all. Buy Canon. Buy Nikon. Upgrade, Downgrade. I don't give a crap anymore. The thread is yours to do as you please.

Are we happy now?

Wow. Er... sorry? I guess it's ok for you to state an opinion but not ok for anybody to disagree. I even defended your right to your opinion and qualified my statements with "that's just how I see it", but somehow it still wasn't enough. I don't know what else I could've done short of just nodding my head and agreeing with you to not offend you.

Well, I went from the Rebel 350XT to the 40D and I love it. I really think the debate over upgrades and improvements is silly. We'll always be seeing new and better cameras coming out every year or few years. I started with a Canon G3 and now I am shooting with a 40D....it feels exciting to be working with a brand new camera...however I am realistic and know it will be short lived. What matters is the images I can make with the camera. I actually have shot images with that G3 that I love more then anything I've got from my 40D. We all love photography which brings us here to discuss it. I agree with the poster, he said he has a 30D, I agree, why not keep shooting and wait for the 50D? Or a replacement for the 5D? Basically anything will work with a person with skills. I am a proud Canadian and if you want to see a skilled guy, check out www.joeyl.com (external link) this kid rocks. He uses a 5D now but did a lot of pictures with a crappy point and shoot....for only 17 years old...he shows what skill means in photography. I will most likely replace my camera in a few years but won't jump at the next upgrade Canon throws my way. I'll enjoy this 40D as long as I can. It's like computers, I am glad I am not using my Commodore 64 anymore....lol.....

I shoot horse racing. I think the 40D is a great upgrade. It is the perfect camera for remote shooting. Put that sucker down below the rail and shoot at a glorious 6.5 FPS from the 1/16th pole to the finish line. Hard to do with a 30D or 20D. The buffer gives me 75 jpegs without quitting, the 30D gives me 30. The extra 2 megapixels will make a huge difference for printing double page spreads in a 10 X 10 book. Every camera has its uses. A few little tweaks over the 30D might not sound like a lot to some. but to others it is a huge difference.

Canon 7D, Canon 1D Mark IV, Canon 24-105L f/4, Canon 35L 1.4, Canon 200L f/2.8, Canon 70-200L II IS f/2.8, Canon 300L f/2.8IS, 580ex Flash, 430ex Flash, 1.4X Converter. Bunch of other crap! I want the new 500mmL and the 200L f/2.0

 Wow! No kidding. I'm humbled by his work. Really impressive stuff there. The post processing technique just adds to the surrealism of his photos. Bookmarking now!
