I just tried it. My 10D (body only) is worth $107 ... LOL!!! I guess that's why I don't try selling any of my 'old' stuff. Sentimental value, for me, puts it up around $120, easy! :)

That site is a riot! I checked the price of my Sony Mavica FD-95 ... 2.1mp floppy disk (and/or memory stick w/adaptor) ... granted, it's an older camera (2000) but for 2.1mp still does pretty well. With the software & cables - $33 ... without software & cables - $23 ... HAHAHAHAHA!

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

One of the more reputable camera gear resellers is www.keh.com (external link). Fill out a estimate and rate the condition ot your equipment and their estimate is good for 10 (15?) days.

I just sold them a D60, battery grip and 35-70mm for $360.

You can probaably make more on a private sale but it won't be as easy.

However, blondes 1D MARK II N WITH CABLES, CD, BATTERY & CHARGER estimated out at $1949

If you go punching a list of all your expensive stuff into a web site, there just might be somebody at the other end who is jotting down who to go rob next.

I would not use such a "service" for security reasons.

I agree. And the site is definitely way off on secondary market value.

honestly, just do what i do and head over to FM and look at what people are getting for their stuff. i can help you a bit from what i have seen lately (i have been on the buy/ sell forum a lot looking for my mkIIn..)

30D- $750-800 or so depending on the condition.
XTi- not too sure about that one but i am thinking around $550+/-
50 1.8- $60
100-400- $1050- $1200 depending on condition
580EX- $300+/-

can't really help you with the Sigma because i know nothing about the lens...

Some good suggestions here... but I do a combination of all that have been suggested...

Ebay
KEH (they almost always have used stock on just about anything you might sell)
FM/POTN

Then I take a guess from all of these what I might get and go with that.
