Here is a covered bridge in Harpersfield, OH. I went out to shoot the sunset and ended up here (I missed the sunset). After about 15 attempts to get something other than just the street lights, and failing misserably, I decided to get creative.
I took a long shot, 40-50 seconds, and used a flashlight to light up the bridge and some of the water. Wow, what a difference. The 2 street lights are on the wrong side of the bridge, and do not light up the bridge at all. nearly 100% of the light on the wooden part of the bridge is from the flashlight.
Some kids were parked not far from me, and I wonder what they thought I was doing. I bet they just wanted me gone so that they could "enjoy
" the pitch black parking lot.
Some minor color adjustments in lightroom, and re-sized to post.
