I didn't want to hi-jack another thread, so I'm starting another thread in response to this thread:

This is why I love FF. Sure, I love my 5D, but it could do with some of the upgrades on the newer bodies. It's funny, but if it's not FF, it's not going to be my main body (for now anyways).
- Resolution: I know people will argue that you don't need the resolution, but if it's "free" and it doesn't increase noise, I want it. I can always buy more hard drives and a faster computer, so I don't see any drawbacks to it. higher resolution means the ability to crop more and to pixel peep. I view a lot of my pics on my computer and sometimes, I like to view at 100% to see details of the shots I take.
- Viewfinder. I've played with the 1D Mark III a bit, so can't comment on it too much, but IMO, I still love the huge viewfinder on the 5D.
- 5D weight and size. It's lighter than the 1D series. It usually doesn't matter, but when it does, it really does.
- Lenses. I love my 24-105mm lens. I more frequently have wished it was wider than the number of times I have wished it was longer. Moving to a crop body would mean I would have to carry an UWA like the 16-35mm. There are many times when I like to have my camera with me in a really small bag. While I love the fact that you have lens selection on SLRs, it's not a selling feature for me. If there was a lens that was light, fast, had IQ comparable to primes and had a range from 14mm to 300mm, I'd be first in line. Unfortunately, that lens doesn't exist, so until Cannon makes a 14mm-105mm or like, a FF body is going to be my main body.
- Sports and action. I like shooting it, but it's not my main thing.
I played with a 1D Mark III for about an hour this week and still prefer my 5D. Now if I could get a 1Ds Mark III for $5000, I'd be in heaven (and could probably live with the weight). I love doing landscapes so resolution is important to me. I've got huge monitors set up that I can spread out a large image on. Call me a geek, but I love looking at landscapes spread across two monitors and I frequently look at my images at 100%.
Hmm...that's all I can think of for now.
