Well I checked b&h's site in the morning, saw it was still in stock. Went to the bank got some money and drove into NYC. Ran into the store, dodging tourists, customers, employees to get to that counter. Asked if they still had them in stock and got the "yes" smile. So I picked one up, along with 77mm expodisc, eyepiece extender that i hacked up to remove the plastic lens inside, and the tamrac 5612 shoulder bag which should hold pretty much everything.

Got home with about 30 minutes to spare till my doctors appointment, started to check over it while the battery charged, read the manual to understand the camera better. Went to doctor, came back hour later. Put fully charged battery in and had some fun. Set the camera to the settings I want. Attached the 24-105 F4L and wow is the AF fast!!

Now the camera was sitting on my foot stool along with the xt. Mom didn't say anything so i was cool with that. Finacee came over took a couple of glances over towards the camera and didn't say anything for about 30 minutes till she asked what i did for the day. When i said i went into NYC she immediately knew why there were 2 cameras. Boy was she not happy, wouldn't talk to me the rest of hte night. So know i gotta be a good boy and try and make things good again.

But overall camera is very very nice. Hoping to pick up the bg-e2 at a local shop along with the handstrap.

Has she handed back the ring? If not, you're safe. Spend a couple of hours shopping with her. Show your willingness to 'go grazing' with her (men are hunters, remember!) and your penance will have been paid.
How do I know? Married 34 years...
;)

heh,,,, ditch her, and propose to your new love of your life, the 40D, she might cost you a small fortune in years to come, but will Certainly never give you any grief

or you could if she hands back the ring, go swap it for another lens :)

It may not be a bad thing to have to think hard about justifying buying something but i'm not sure i'd want someone elses input.

Hahaha, maybe this should have been posted in the "EOS40D: Damage Control" thread.

Best of luck to you, you've just got to learn to be a little bit more sneaky
