Hiya All,

Well what a bloody time I've been havin, our Dishwasher went up the spout last night at 23:00 & left me poking around in the dark till I found the torch that somebody had moved  so first thing this morn with Aqua-vac in hand I prized open the door of the machine, sucked out all the gungy water, stripped out the Heating Element, sent Ami of for a new one, just had a call from her say I gota order a new Element direct from the manufacturers @£45 & yes it'll take four to five working days to get here, Oh damn rubber glove time again  what the hell this has to do with my posting I've no Idea, just though t I'd share my wonderful night/day with you all :lol:

Anyway I got a half descent shot of a ' Red Spider Mite ' it's only about 1mm & it had caught a ' Cerobasis guestfalica ' which it was dragging backwards up some Tree Bark, hell they move fast even with Prey, I caught it as it got tangled up in some ' Flaky Bark ' then it was off at high speed.

The ' Cerobasis guestfalica I ID'd it ??? from one of Brian's shots on the

National Barkfly Recording Scheme (Britain and Ireland) :D

#1 is Cropped, no I didn't crop off its Bum just bad shooting, I tried to get a sideways on shot but didn't see that darn flake of Bark in the way:o

#2 is just re-sized for posting

Cheers for now
Mark

Didn't think you'd crop off a backside Mark. :D

Nice shots. I prefer 2 for obvious reasons.

Hope the new element arrives soon. Don't know how I survived without a dishwasher now... You have my sympathies.

Hiya Toby, Bernie, Brian, Joan, Gail,

Many thanks for you kind words & comments,

Toby,

It was definately a lucky find I was acctualy leaning up against the tree looking for Red Velvet Mites when I spotted this one instead :D normally they move so fast I just let em go about their business but this was to good a chance to miss but it didn't stay still for long though.

Bernie, Brian,

Its just as well I can fix this myself as the saved £90 call out can go towards a new Tripod :D the trouble with all these new machines is the manufacturers try to build in anti DIY defence but they didn't recon on the Bandits hidden skills

Mmmmm time for food, must be feeling better eh

Cheers for now
Mark

Wow, well spotted, well captured! I guess they are a spider after all ;) Bonus including a springtail (and getting the ID right by the sounds of it). Well done!

As to the troubles with the dishwasher, if you want my honest opinion (well my dad's), they're a waste of money. He was a whitegoods mechanic for many years, fixing washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, fridges, freezers and so on. I personally prefer washing them by hand, at least you know that they're washed properly.

Hiya Linda, MJ, Dave, Toby,

Many thanks for your kind words & comments,

Linda,

Oh they be prober Marigolds fur sure, I zaves the long black rubberuns fur tee dip the sheep wiv ;)

Dave,

I sorta agree with your Dads line of thought, but for me it's an easy cop out only having the one ' Paw ' to use  also most folk tend to over load their Dishwasher plus never seem to rise the dishes afore they load up, then they wonder why the Crocks come out dirty

Toby,
I gota be honest & say I didn't know what variety of BarkFly it was, it was only by looking at this site
http://www.brc.ac.uk/schemes/barkfly/homepage.htm (external link)
& seeing Brian's shot that I thought I'd got it, I believe these are the Wingless variety ???

Cheers for now
Mark
