I figure since there's enough of this stuff around here, might as well embrace it. Lemme know what you think of some of these and feel free to rough me up a bit on em. I just want to get better. Peace.

I ran into a reporter for the Cleveland Plain Dealer shooting this same bridge when I got there.

1st for me too. Not sure what you were doing with the rusty pole and the grey building. the mask is cut pretty loosely. Let a little of the color come through and it might look better.

They wouldn't, they'd go down them, it's a fire escape. :)

Interesting shots. Don't care for the selective color, but 4-7 are very interesting urbanesque captures and the fire hydrant is classic, but wish it weren't cropped so tight chopping it's li'l nipples and hat off. :)

Thanks guys, here's that shot without the selective color. I just learned how to do this and was experimenting. Maybe this is better.

Kenny, you got me busting up on the nipples comment (felt like my 13 year old son when he hears the word boobs..man, I gotta grow up!).

As for the stairs, I think only Skeeter figured it out..notice there's no door on either end...gotta love the city.

Here's the full color version...more to come later today.

new to the masking thing. how do I let it bleed through? something to do with the tolerance levels? if so, which layer gets adjusted (up or down) the top layer I am erasing or the background?

Assuming you used a mask to get the pole to separate from the background, rather than using black to knock out the background, use a shade of gray. Did you use an adjustment layer? If so, it would have created a mask for you. Click on that layer and fill in the areas around the pole with differing layers of gray (transparency). Have fun!

Oh, I think we'll get you into it! Rich, check back in a bit for some more stuff I shot just this morning. Should give you some more sense of what we can do.
