Ok, I haven't posted pics in a long time. Sorry. I've been so busy I haven't even had the energy to do it, so I'm just gonna throw a few pics from my last 5 or so weddings. And I'm not posting the usual type of shots either... I'm gonna mix it up with a few weaker ones I normally never show because I think they are too standard/uninteresting (i.e. venue, flower shots, cake cutting, late night party) and some that are definitely not the stronger shots that are a little more abstract. (And a couple shots that are my usual type)

So please, C&C is welcome from all experience levels.

1. The Edmonton Country Club. A beautiful venue.

Dang it! Just when I was starting to think I was getting the hang of this photography thing you show up with these...oh, well back to practicing I guess
:p (and these are your uninteresting shots, too...double Dang It!)

#1 Interesting shot, but the trees in the island really take away from it. Did you happen to get a shot from far to the left or farther to the right that pushed the trees to the side at all?
#2 & #3 I think you should follow your instincts about not posting the flower shots :) Not that they aren't excellent shots, just that they are so...blah...compared to your usual stuff. On #2, how where the flowers supported?? A vase of some sort?
#4 Nice shot, I really like the reflection in the mirror and the sepia conversion.
#5 I love the overhead angle and seeing the concentration on "the helpers" faces.
#6 Here's the Lloyd shots I'm used too, but I'm not really feeling this one so much. Couple just doesn't really seem part of the environment, too harsh of flash maybe?
#7 I like the cross process and the emotion is great. You can tell they are really having fun :D
#8 is my favorite, love the look of the sky and the kiss is captured perfectly (no smushed faces)
#9 Great candid and really liking your overhead shots.
#10 is my 2nd favorite, looks like a postcard.
#11 took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at, but the more I look at it the more I like it. Very different than the normal cake shot, I like it!
#12 Nice capture expression wise, but it's very busy and my eyes keep being drawn to the gentleman in blue behind the couple.

Very solid series, Lloyd, different from what we are used to, but thats what you were going for when you posted :) Don't make us wait so long for the next set :)

These are nice pics man! My only knit pick is the building in first shot. It'a bit distorted and the trees in front are blocking the main entrance. Maybe a better view from the left side might have been better. And #10 is a nice shot but, it slightly tilted to the left. Other than that, well done!

4 is almost great. I don't much like the angle, i'd prefer a good photo than a reflectino.
6 is cool, you lit this?
9/10/11 are great.

The rest are solid. Still a cut above most photographers, but I think you can do better :)

These are beautiful. 4 is my favorite followed closely by 6. Watch the bottom left corner of #1. You may want to clone out the shadow.

Very nice work.

#5, 7, 8, 9 are my favourite since I am more in to "capture the moment" shots and they can tell the story.

#5 is nice I can feel the last min rush!

#6 The light on B&G seems a little too harsh and not too compatable with the background.

#7 love the emotion

#8 This is why we called you Light Master

#9 nice crop and love the expression on Bride 's face.

yeah, going for different. Not posting the best this time around. I figure I can learn more if I get critique on the lousier shots.

I looked for a few angles to get the venue, but there is no way to get away from those trees in front. And you know what, they're as much a part of the venue as the building itself, so I left it.

yeah 6 wasn't executed perfectly. I didn't put enough angle in the light. Your thinking gets a little muddled when you're trying to get a shot FAST because it's raining and the bride doesn't want to get wet.

12 i figured is colourful everywhere. maybe I should selective colour the couple? hahahahahaha

thanks for commenting

yup, lit 6, though rather poorly..
If you are saying the rest are still good then that makes me happy. I was almost shaking my head when selecting the photos to post but i wanted to put my weaker side out there. whew! <relieved i barely passed the tim test>

I don't know, I'm pretty "good" at that, too! lol

Like you've said before, maybe 20 shots are works of art, and the rest are just good documentary-type photos. Brides love to see their bouquets looking brilliant again, and the reception location, etc. They're still well above the average shot! I've seen some of these before, were they on your blog?
