I don't want a battery grip for my 5D, but got used to the E1 on my 20D with the grip, so I tried to make one myself.

Salvage the strap from an old binoculars, the mounting nob from the mini tripod. Cut a piece of aluminum for the mounting plate, and glue a piece of rubber mat for friction material.

What do you think?

pretty nice. Probably cheaper than one from ebay if you have the resources, and best of all...you can say you made it yourself!

Very nice, I'm far to lazy to make one though.

Nice job, it looks good.

I've actually been thinking about making one as I just got a battery grip, but I haven't really put much thought into it. For the most part I just wrap the neck strap around my hand, but that gets kind of annoying.

Very tidy.

You could start mass producing those if you can find a good supply of old binocular straps :)
Just need somewhere for the POTN logo :D
