Tooks some pics of this little critter today. The ones with the dark background are from early this morning. Very cloudy.
The green background was from after work, still cloudy.
Didn't notice the rider in the one shot till I downloaded it.

ISO 100/ f16 /ss1/200/ flash

C&C always welcome and an ID if anyone knows what it is.

Edit: Pretty sure it's a Specid Wasp. ID courtesy Racketman.

Thanks Lance. Everytime they are resting and it's cool outside, they hang on with their mouth. They always hang out on that same weed also. Yesterday there were about 5, but they were way too busy to shoot.

I would think its a male Ichneumon wasp , I will try and ID it. Thanks for sharing.

EDIT
Actually appears to be a Sphecid wasp, genus.Ammophila. Probably hunting caterpillars.

Yeah I didn't notice it at first either. It would have been nice if the hiker would have been in focus, but I'll take it as is.
