I thought it would be amusing to have a thread where we show 1 example of each Order of insects from the following standard list (minus 10 Orders that we are unlikely to have examples of but which could be added later).
The rule I propose is you can only contribute one photo ie as I will start with a Collembola (Springtails) I cannot post again in this thread. Once an Order has ONE example you must start on the next Order as listed below.
This will produce 22 photos from 22 different contributors.
Best if you at least know the family the insect comes from if not the actual species. Location of photo would be nice.

Here is the list:
Collembola (external link) Springtails
Ephemeroptera (external link) Mayflies Odonata (external link) Dragonflies Plecoptera (external link) Stoneflies Orthoptera (external link) Grasshoppers and CricketsPhasmida (external link) Stick-Insects Dermaptera (external link) Earwigs Dictyoptera (external link) Cockroaches and Mantids Isoptera (external link) Termites Psocoptera (external link) Bark and Book Lice Neuroptera (external link) Lacewings Coleoptera (external link) Beetles Hemiptera (external link) True Bugs Mecoptera (external link) Scorpionflies Siphonaptera (external link) Fleas Diptera (external link) True Flies Lepidoptera (external link) Butterflies and Moths Trichoptera (external link) Caddis Flies Hymenoptera (external link) Ants Bees and Wasps

RED = done

I leave it with to Racketman to tell us whether we should now follow the instructions he originally gave about posting in the order he listed, ie. Odonata (external link) Dragonflies should be next photo in thread.
