wow very nice!

general question.... i love the crop you have done, but what happens when/if they want them printed and the aspect ratio wont work and then kinda takes away from the image.

this is not aimed at you, just want to know if most of you guys set the crop to a 8x10 or 11x13... etc and work it from there?

Thanks Gravy!

You know...that is a really good question. I am instructed to only use a 70-200 lens (all these were taken with that lens) and to stay in tight and do a lot of tilting. Some of these could not be printed as an 8x10 because of the cropping. Hmm.

One the flip side, I got married a year ago and payed over $3000 for my photographer, love me pictures but have yet to make an enlargement. lol So maybe the cropping wont matter so much.

I will be curious to see if anyone else responds to your question.

i love both of your sets. ( especially the marine one...my hubby was a marine) any how i understand about your lens. but what kind of settings on your camera do you favor while your shooting a wedding.

i think your work is fabulous. and i look forward to seeing more of your work.

my mom just asked me to shoot her 20th wedding renewal thing ( im so wet behind the ears)

I think you are doing well. I like tight crops but gravy does make a good point. 2nd shooting is a lot of fun.

Thanks for the kind words ShannyD!

As far as my setting prefered for a wedding, I am probably not the one to ask (this is all new to me). However, I will tell you that 98% of the photos taken in these two sets were shot in Tv at ISO 400 and 1/200 with flash in ETL. Now the other two photographers that were shooting film, spent most there time in M and occationally in Tv if the light was shifting. The second set we fought with the sun a lot more and my exposures didn't fair as well shooting in Tv.

My personal preference would be to shoot in M and Av most of the time and not use a fill flash so much. I like available light and more control of depth of field.

I have another wedding tomorrow, so I should have some new images posted by mid week.

Gravy, I got lucky. When I met the owner of the photography company that shot my wedding, the interview processs was on. He just didn't know it. I already new then that I wanted to get into this field. Between consultations, engagement shoot, wedding, picking up pictures, etc I was working on getting in the door. Last spring I met the owner of another photography company (used to work for company A) and have now got in the door there. (Comapny A said good things about me to company B) I am hoping that next year I will be a busier year working for these two companies.

You know what's funny....neither company ever asked to see a picture of mine before taking me out. I guess it was all personality and equipment talk. It didn't hurt that I was pretty well equipped.
