Hope someone can help on this. I am going to the Philippines and wanted to bring my ABR800 ringflash. Of course, this is 120 volts and in the Philippines is 220/240 (can't remember which). I have the vagabond but after reading some posts looks like I may have trouble bringing on the plane and I'm not willing to risk it. So, I'm thinking of getting a step down transformer or dual voltage converter. I read somewhere to get 3 times the watts rating. The ABR800 is 320 watts rating so I would need somewhere in the range of 1000 watts? Would it be better to get a multivoltage stabilizer? I see one like this
VS 1000 - DUAL VOLTAGE CONVERTERS
- Converts 110/120 V to 220/240 V OR converts 220/240 V to 110/120 V (switch is on back of unit)
- On/Off switch with indicator lamp
- Analog meter on front of unit shows exact output voltage
- Voltage stabilizer good for countries with unstable voltage supply
- 3 outlets on front of unit (outlets accept 3 or 2 prong US plugs and 2 prong Euro/Asian plugs)
- Insulated power cord is hard wired with a European Shucko plug also good for Asian outlets (grounded 3 prong US adapter also available - Item No. VP 13)
- Heavy-duty metal casing and durable design
- Comes with round and flat pin plugs for use in USA, Canada, and Mexico
- Fuse protected
Appreciate any help
