Well you are a lucky man to have such beautiful girls. The shots seem a little too saturated. I have noticed this on my 40D as well when I shoot in like 'normal' picture style. As the 20D did not have picture styles, I never noticed this on the old camera. I think canon with picture styles on the 30D and 40D gives much more ability to make the pics look like they came from a point and shoot by setting these settings so aggressively. Luckily they can be adjusted.

Have you tried bouncing the flash and using a little white card on it to direct just a little of it's power forwards?

You have darling girls. Are you loving the 40D? I am considering buying one.

Your girls are precious. My wife and I have 3 daughters but they are all out of the house now so I don't have them to practise on. I have had my 40D for a week now and like you I will be learning to use it for a long time I just won't have those little girls to practise on. None of mine are married yet so maybe I will learn how to use my camera before I have grandchildren.

thanks all! Yes, I am loving the 40d, just the fact you can take continuous pics and not have to wait for it to record them. I'll play around with the sat. levels....thanks all!
