Time for the results...in which I had a hard time deciding the winner. Great pics everyone.

1. dilorenzo1954 - Youth knows no age
Spectacular photo! It puts me right at the game and reminds me of my days spent at the ballpark when I was a kid. Wonderful soft processing effect.

2. Pete - Building up Courage
Not only is that duckling extremely cute (which for the most part goes hand in hand with youth), but it perfectly depicts the stage of "lack of fear" in youth. Again it reminds me of my days learning flips off the diving board during summer camp.

3. the_incubus - 5 year old cuz rockin' out
Another great example of youth. Not afraid to stand out, make a fool out of yourself, or just be crazy and imaginative. The Dragan processing adds a little more edge to the shot as well.

Woot! Many thanks, Mike. What a strong field, and completely agree with the choice of Ed's shot. The look on that boys face is just perfect.

Well done everyone.

Just a quick question because I am new to the DSLR contests. Back when I used to do the small camera contests regularly, the sizing rules were enforced. In this competition, there were only 3 photos that met the sizing requirements. I don't care either way, but I just want to know because it is a lot easier for me to post shots at any size I feel like it, rather than following the rule. Nice shots folks!

Since I wasn't around when the challenges began I am not sure why the rule was in place to begin with other than maybe the Forum rules. However I really don't see why it matters. We are not judging based on image quality, but rather image content. Regardless of size the content of the photo can be judged (within reason). So what really bothers you about the posted pics, the lack of 800 pixels or greater than 100kB?

Since these competitions are all about fun and shooting I really don't see why it matters. As you can tell from the responses after the competition ends everyone seems to be congratulatory and participates in the next challenge. What is more important here, rules or fun, enjoyment, and community?

I pick B. The big prize that I see here is mostly bragging rights.

I make sure that the photos I post are 800 pixels on one side, but if I'm missing the mark, could someone let me know. I'm still kind of a newbie when it comes to taking what I consider to be better than amateur shots.
