I wasn't going to buy a new camera for awhile. My 300D still worked and I can't afford another one. One evening my dad was talking about getting a new camera. I told him he should buy mine and I would buy an new one. He asked what would I buy? I told him probably a 5D...but that was a lot of money. I said I'd probably get something "cheaper". We talked about other things after that. About a month later, I get a registered letter from my folks. There was a musical card, a letter and a check for $2500...to "Begin a 'New Chapter' in your photographic pursuits". Wow. My 300D "stuff" will be sent back to my parents next week.
...So we went out for a "field trip" with the kids. On the way home, I really liked the colors in the sky and seeing the moon was a bonus. Problem is...it was a dangerous place to try and shoot. I asked my wife to pull off the side of the road and opened the side door and shot this photo from the van. A little challenging because I had a telephone pole on the left and a water tank on the right. This was the composition...
