I understand them not working because of religious reasons, but you would think their websites would take the orders and they would be there waiting for them when they get back... I guess that would also cause a backlog if there is no one there filling the orders as they go.

ryant35... Even allowing the website to "work" while they are are observing the sabbath (Shabbat) is the same as actually being in the store working. I know this being married to a Jewish woman and having lived in a Jewish neighborhood in New York. One interpretation is that causing a mechanical or electronic machine to work is the equivalent of causing a live beast of burden to work. Technically they cannot push a button on an elevator, drive a car, cook or work the TV remote control.

But I can wait until Saturday night to buy a 40D, can't you?!

People have differing views on observing the sabbath. At B&H they consider taking online orders to be breaking the sabbath and they will not do that.

I just got home after a long drive 6 hrs r/t to pick up my 40 D. It feels like seeing a new friend for the first time.

I ended up getting the body only, I will get another wide angle lens when I get extra funds. One thing that stands out is the LCD compare to my old D 60 is like an old TV and HDTV....

Unfortunately, I paid the MSRP but got the real deal!!!!!!

They offered CANON's EXTENDED WARRANTY 4 years for $150. I have 30 days to decide, any comments?

Now comes the fun part of it lerning curve.

Weird I just posted my reply but it disapeared.

In any event, I just got home went to pick up my 40 D long drive 6 hours R/T but saved sales tax. It feels great holding on to it. What a difference just the LCD alone compare to my old D60.

I just got the body and I agree with the suggestion I got, I'll probably get a Wide Angle later....
